What is medical facial aesthetics?

Over time, your skin and the supporting muscles suffer the effects of ageing. Medical aesthetics is a growing field of treatments that provides the opportunity to rejuvenate your skin and enhance your natural youthfulness.Lines form as a result of movement of the underlying muscles which crease the skin. The lines, which disappear when the face is relaxed, are known as dynamic lines and typically form in the upper face. Repeated muscle movement can create lines that remain even when the face is relaxed. These are known as static lines.At Market Place Dental we provide injectable treatments for reduction of both static and dynamic lines as well for lip augmentation. 

Who is it for?

Injectable facial aesthetics is aimed at treating anyone who has or is developing lines and wrinkles. It is also for anyone who wishes to better define areas such as the lip line.There are some medical conditions and circumstances where these treatments are not advised, including pregnancy and during nursing. At Market Place Dental we have a minimum treatment-age of 21 years old. Due to lack of studies in patients over 65 years of age, we also recommend against treatment above this age.

What do you inject?

Dermal fillers are the most commonly used aesthetic treatments for treating lines and wrinkles.Fillers are used directly to smooth static lines using hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring compound in the body that absorbs water. The skin loses its natural hyaluronic acid content over time making it less elastic and more prone to wrinkles. The treatment is reversible and requires further treatments to maintain rejuvenation. The Juvederm® Ultra range is the dermal filler used.At Market Place Dental we offer other injectable rejuvenating treatments that require an initial consultation which we offer as a complimentary appointment. What areas get treated?

Forehead, frown and eye areas are typically treated with our injectable rejuvenating treatments.Static lines from the nose to mouth (naso-labial folds), marionette lines, wrinkles and lips are all treated with the dermal filler Juvederm® by the vial.

How do I get treatment?

Book in for your first consultation and we'll assess your treatment needs so you can be provided with a natural-looking result. If suitable, we will book you in for your treatment appointment. Two weeks following your treatment, a review appointment is recommended where a top-up may be required in addition to taking your after-photos.

How long does the treatment last?

Dermal fillers need replacing in 6 to 9 months whereas botulinum toxins last up to 4 months, often with a small 'holiday' between each treatment. Call us now or book online for your initial consultation.
